Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register for a class?
Click the registration link and make sure you are logged in under the correct family member who will be taking the class. Once you're in the appropriate profile, select "Book Now" beside the class you'd like to join and complete the registration process.
Can I join after the season has already started?
Yes! If space is available, you can join a class after the season has begun. Tuition will be prorated based on the date you enroll, so you'll only pay for the remaining classes in the session.
Do you offer free trial classes?
Yes! We offer one free trial class for new students, subject to class availability. A trial class is a great way to experience our studio, meet the instructor, and see if the class is the right fit.
Can my dancer switch classes during the season?
Yes! Dancers are welcome to try different classes and switch to a different class if a better fit is found. Class changes can be made up until March 1st, subject to availability and instructor approval.
Do you offer competitive dance?
Yes! We offer a competitive dance program for dancers looking for additional training, performance opportunities, and competition experiences. Please contact us for more information about our competitive teams, requirements, and audition process.
What if my dancer misses a class?
Unfortunately, we do not offer make-up classes or refund classes for missed classes.
Do you offer make-up classes for weather-related closures or studio cancellations?
No. Make-up classes are not offered for weather-related closures or unforeseen cancellations. Our season schedule is built with potential interruptions in mind, and tuition is based on the full season rather than a per-class rate.
When should dancers arrive?
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before class begins so dancers are ready to start on time.
What should dancers bring to class?
Proper dance shoes
Required dance attire
Water bottle
Positive attitude and willingness to learn!
Can parents watch classes?
Yes! We have viewing windows and TV monitors available so parents can comfortably watch classes without entering the studio space.
To minimize distractions and help dancers stay focused, parents and spectators are not permitted inside the classrooms during lessons.
Please note that instructors may close the curtains or limit viewing at their discretion if they feel distractions are affecting the dancers' focus, participation, or learning experience.
What should my dancer wear to class?
Each class has specific footwear and attire requirements. Detailed dress code information will be provided upon registration.
Where can I purchase dance shoes and attire?
Dance shoes and attire can be purchased through local dancewear retailers, online stores such as Amazon, or other dance supply websites.
We also offer a Dancer's Closet at the studio, featuring a variety of gently used dance shoes, tights, and dancewear available for purchase at affordable prices. Availability varies throughout the season.
Please ensure any shoes or attire purchased independently meet the studio's dress code requirements before ordering.
Are there performance opportunities throughout the season?
Yes! In addition to our year-end recital, we offer a Winter Variety Show, which gives dancers an extra opportunity to perform and showcase their talents during the season.
When are the performances held?
Our Winter Variety Show is typically held in December. The exact date for the 2026–2027 season is still to be determined and will be announced once confirmed.
Our annual recital is typically held at the end of June. The date for the 2026–2027 season is currently to be determined.
For reference, the 2025–2026 Year-End Recital will take place on June 20, 2026, at Showplace Performance Centre in Peterborough.
What are the costume fees for performances?
Costumes for the Winter Variety Show are provided by the studio and remain studio property. Dancers will wear the costume for the performance and return it afterward.
A $50 costume deposit per class is due during the season to secure costume orders.
The remaining balance is due in May.
Most recital costumes range from $80–$130 per costume, depending on the class and costume selected. The $50 deposit is applied toward the total costume cost, and families will be invoiced for the remaining balance once final pricing is confirmed.
Costume fees are non-refundable once costumes have been ordered.
How will I receive studio updates?
Important announcements, reminders, recital information, and studio news are sent by email. Please ensure your contact information remains up to date throughout the season.
How can I contact the studio?
If you have any questions, we're always happy to help! Contact us by email, phone, or through our website contact form.
My child has never danced before. Is that okay?
Absolutely! Many of our students begin with no previous dance experience. Our instructors create a welcoming, supportive environment where dancers can learn and grow at their own pace.
What can my child expect during their first class?
New dancers will be introduced to basic movements, class routines, and studio expectations in a fun, encouraging, and age-appropriate environment designed to help them feel comfortable and confident.
